Flying to New Heights

Climbing is the new thing around here. Tonight I was making dinner, which is a rarity in and of itself, and went rummaging through the freezer for some frozen vegetables. I turned back around and was greeted by Finn's I-am-doing-something-I-know-I'm-not-supposed-to-do-and-I-am-VERY-happy-about-it-grin of glee. In the time it took me to find the bag of frozen vegetables, he had managed to pull himself onto the chair, stand up, and survey the world around him with the pride of a hiker having reached his summit.

After snatching him and returning him to the ground, I asked him to climb up again so that I could both snap this picture and discover just how he managed to do it. Apparently he has fantastic upper body strength because it was all about pulling. Since I was standing there, he did ask for "help" this time around!

Tonight's climbing episode wasn't the first...Finn has recently been trying to and succeeding at scaling everything--storage boxes, his toys, and the bench in the foyer.
