Flummoxed by Eggs
Click here to see more egg-related activities.
Starting with an Easter Egg hunt in early April, Finn has spent the better part of April perplexed by the constant presence of eggs...Why is everyone so obsessed with these things? They're not even good for throwing. Why is it that some are edible and others are made of plastic? First Mama and Papa take me to a soccer field and suggested I gather the multi-colored deceivingly ball-like objects and put them in a basket. I looked around for the soccer balls, but there was not a single one in sight. My buddy Hayden didn't know what to make of the whole thing either. Luckily we got to go to the park after the adults were done oohing and ahhing at the eggs.
A few days later I found myself buckled into my seat the table, but no dinner appeared. Instead Mama and Papa were again going on and on about eggs! This time the eggs were white, but ended up all different colors. Who knew?!
The egg-mania continued on Saturday with egg stickers! I really did enjoy sticking them on everyone's forehead, though. Next thing I knew, Sunday morning there were eggs scattered on the floor in my room and all over the house! I picked a few up to appease Mama, but I was actually really hungry for breakfast. Interestingly, some of the eggs had snacks in them and Mama let me eat sugar, and before breakfast!
At this point you'd think the adults would be tiring of eggs, but no. We arrive at my Aunt Louise's house Sunday afternoon and you would never believe what my cousins were doing...hunting for eggs! I have to admit, it was a little more fun than at my house, that Bunny guy did a better job of hiding them this time. Keri, Eric, and I got to open drawers and closet doors and look under beds, all in search of eggs. Once that was over with, we did get to play on the balcony and watch cars go by, so that made me happy.
Seriously Monday came and I was happy to get back to my normal routine mostly involving my basketball hoop, but those eggs were still hanging around, yet now they were empty. Where'd the snacks go? And just today I found another one of the darn things mixed in with my Legos. It had gummy bunnies in it.
Maybe this whole egg thing will make more sense next year!
