My jean jacket has been missing for a good month now and it's been driving me crazy. Since it is nowhere in the house or the car or my classroom, I figured I must have had a Jason-like moment and left it somewhere. Very annoying. I was going to have to buy a new jean jacket.
This afternoon, medium man was on a hunt for a missing airplane. After hunting under his bed, behind the toy bins, and in every nook and cranny, I suggested he look in the suitcase closet in the basement. There was a playmate when he and Zachy had dumped a bunch of toys in there. Flashlight in hand, he literally dove in among the suitcases and began uncovered a plastic chicken drumstick, a play pot, and a few of Lightening McQueen's friends. Then, I spotted a jacket of Wylie's. What was that doing in there? And another item that had lived on the coat hooks until a few weeks back! And, eventually, Finn uncovered my jean jacket, buried among the suitcases.
He explained that he and a friend, Melina, had put our coats there when they were playing garbage truck. Oh, well that makes sense. He didn't find his airplane, but seemed to forget about as he discovered buried treasure in the closet.

Mismatch, Dress Crazy Day
Tuesday was Mismatch Day at Finn's school. He put this outfit together by himself and was thrilled to wear it all day long! Love the lack of self-consciousness--he didn't think twice about being dressed this way for an outing to the park.

Tid-bits
This morning as I was getting Finn's breakfast he said, "I want the regular Cheerios" and pointed to the Trader Joe's O's box and dismissed the Cheerios box. Yay Trader Joe's!
Today Wylie managed to get the basement door open and was standing at the top of the stairs, contemplating, when I grabbed him.
I said something like, "Wylie, that was scary, I was worried. You almost fell down the stairs!"
Finn felt similarly and said, "Yes, Wy, that was scary. You could've made it to the basement and knocked over my tower!"
I pulled Finn's covers up just now and noticed a shoe box on his bed, next to his pillow. Inside is "Softie" his blanket. Odd, but so sweet.

Oh, Canada.
Dear Papa,
Thank you for our presents from Vancouver! I (Finn) look very snazzy in my red maple leaf t-shirt. And, I (Wylie) am exuberantly happy about my new baby moose. Most of all, though, we're just glad to have you back home!
Love,
Finn and Wylie

T-Ball!
Finn's first t-ball "game"! Green versus purple. Go green! (Much better than t-ball class last year!)

Climber Finn
When did my little boy become such a proficient climber, easily maneuvering his way around the big kids' playground? And without me even saying, "Be careful," a hundred times!

Dear Easter Bunny/Peter Cottontail,
During dinner last night Finn dictated this letter.
Welcome to our house!
1. You gotta sign in: "Peter Cottontail."
2. Hide the Easter eggs in the playroom, somewhere where we can't find them. Also, hide my basket somewhere in the basement.
3. Enjoy some carrots in the kitchen, on the table.
4. Don't touch the pretty eggs.
5. Clear your plate after you eat. Thank you.
6. Thank you for the Easter eggs.
7. "Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail. Hippity hoppety, Easter's on its way!"

Wylie is Walking--It's official!
Here's our little man, at 14 months, walking! Doing laps, in fact. Don't mind the ruckus in the background--Finn is s playing the harmonica, background music of course, and cackling like a hyena about it. And I'm dust busting. What else would a mom, post breakfast, be doing in the kitchen?
