Finn's Projects

Our dining room is cluttered with an ebb and flow of Finn's projects.  For one, he has figured out that building on the dining table is the only safeguard against Wylie's demolishing tendencies.  But also, the project sit there for days or weeks or months because I don't know what to do with them!

So, finally Finn and I took pictures of a few projects today, for posterity.  I figure if I save the picture, that is as close as I can get to saving the actual project.  (I took the pirate art project straight to the garbage can.  I'm worried if suddenly the igloo is gone, will Finn notice and want it back?)

Finn and Sammy build this sugar-cube igloo early this year and I haven't been able to figure out what to do with it. Note Finn's artistic photographic perspective.

Backyard River

In another small attempt to be super-mom, I pulled out a project-idea I'd had sitting around for months but never motivated to try with the boys--a backyard river using aluminum foil and bottle-cap boats.  Our friends Sarah and Hayden were here, so it was extra fun to build a river with their help.

Wylie "helping" float things in the river.

Hayden posing for a picture.

Finn's version of posing--he didn't actually stop moving.

The river did not work that well, so Wylie moved on to drinking from the hose.

This he thought was very funny.

Back to the usual backyard hanging out.

Climbing Wylie

My baby, my little Wylie, has taken to climbing onto what was his brother's stool to look for unclaimed food on the kitchen counter. This kid has gumption!

Wylie Gets Down

The little man is often moved by music.  He bobs his little head or sways side to side even when Finn spews out a random original tune.  He sometimes dances when there is no music, or at least I think that's what he's doing.  Here he buggies down at Oak Park's Sunday concert in the park.

Off with the training wheels

Today marks the end of an era--Jason took Finn's training wheels off.  The training wheels came off and Finn raced down a hill at Maple Park!  Woo hoo!

Wylie up to bat

Our little man is doing his best to keep up with his big brother.  Here he shows off his hitting skills.

Garden Camp

Garden Camp this week, but, oddly, they haven't planted anything.

Build-A-Bear!

Finn is oh-so-very-lucky he has a Grandma to take him to places like Build-a-Bear.  I may be momentarily attracted by the cuteness-factor of a stuffed animal, but I refuse to buy them.  Yet, Mom had a coupon and was gunning to let Finn build his own bear.  He is now the proud owner of a new custom-built polar bear, Bo Bo, complete with a fireman uniform, boots, and underwear!  (Wylie got a puppy, naked.)
