Today I managed to be a Super Mom. It happens next to never, thus the need to document it. Today, Thursday, August 1, with the help of two babysitters and the hinderance of an ear infection, I did it! Proud of myself, I gotta capture this day. Especially those zen moments when I was painting, drinking coffee, and not cursing the project whatsoever. Numerous "ah ha's" from my :
-discovering I could drink coffee (wine next time for sure) and paint at the same time,
-remembering that work like that, knocking out a project, feels really good,
-noticing that I don't hate painting.
The puzzle pieces of the day fit together just right and I managed to adapt to changes, go with kids' flow, even play a little bit!
8:00 run my 3.1 miles, and at a faster than normal pace
(meanwhile I am soothed knowing Wylie is more than happy watching the Village tree trimmers and my ear-ache boy is fast asleep in my bed)
9:00 paint store
9:30 paint bathroom trim (all thanks to Rachel for entertaining the boys)
11:30 doctor's appointment reveals Finn has an ear infection
12:30 lunch, a show, and Wylie down for a nap all before Samantha arrived to babysit
(dash to the bathroom to finish the last bit of trim)
1:40 Samantha arrives and Finn and I exit
(quick stop at CVS to get Finn's antibiotic)
2:00 Food Pantry
4:00 Tae Kwon Do--Finn got his striped-yellow belt!
(quick stop at Walgreens to get the Pringles Finn requested for his snack)
5:00 home to relieve Samantha
6:45 Jimmy John's picnic in the backyard
(no time for a shower!)
8:00 drinks at Poor Phil's with Hauser friends
