Little man was sitting by the pool and contemplating life. He was sort of muttering to himself...
It is so warm, it is summer.
Wait, if it is summer, we missed the snow.
If we missed the snow, that means we missed my birthday.
Luckily grandma was nearby to relieve him of his panic.

Wylie-the Giver
When I came home tonight Wylie had left a cookie and a half for me on the kitchen counter with a note transcribed by Jason, "This if for you, Mommy. It's cookies. And they're yummy. And there's lemon in them." He was pure joy as he asked me if I found them on the kitchen counter, and then went downstairs to get them for me. Later when I asked what his best and worst was, he name giving me the cookies as the best part of his day.

Would you rather...?
Out of nowhere today Finn asked me, "Would you rather be a pilgrim or a Wampanoag?"

Wylie continues to surprise
I don't know if I'll ever get over how very different Wylie is from Finn. Goofy and quick to laugh and free with his feelings and fastidious. He punctuated that difference tonight with another example.
After dinner I was helping Finn write thank you notes and Jason went in search of Wylie to start the bedtime process. They were back in the kitchen within a minute or two, having found Wylie upstairs, already pj-ed and brushing his teeth. Ready for books. Without being told. Who does that?

Wylie Wins!
Wylie played his first game of Monopoly tonight. And he won big time, beating Finn by a landslide. His reaction was worth remembering. He jumped up and down and cheered and then gave Finn a huge hug. So sweet.
